The China State Railway Group, the national railway operator, announced on Monday that a new high-speed railway is set to open in East China's Fujian province on Tuesday, aiming to enhance social and economic development in the western part of the province.

The 92-kilometer line, designed for speeds up to 250 km/h, will connect Longyan and Wuping in Fujian. It is a pivotal segment of a larger railway network linking Fujian with Guangdong province. Situated in the mountainous region, the line traverses less-developed areas within the province.

The inauguration of this line is expected to improve the railway infrastructure in Fujian's western region, facilitating efficient travel for residents along the route.
