With a spectacular show of music, dance, flags, and youthful energy, WorldSkills Lyon 2024, the world's largest skills competition, officially opened on September 10 at 7 pm local time.

During the opening ceremony, participants from across the globe paraded with their national flags, radiating the vibrant spirit of young talent. The Chinese delegation, in particular, captivated the audience as they marched with high energy, waving flags and interacting with the crowd, who responded with cheers and applause.

Max Roche, President of WorldSkills Lyon 2024, emphasized in his speech, "This competition is all about sharing—sharing skills, sharing knowledge, sharing happiness, and sharing success. We want to welcome everyone, no matter where they come from."

Starting on September 11, 68 competitors from Team China will compete alongside 1,400 peers from 68 other countries and regions in all 59 skills over four intense days of competition. The competitions span six major categories: Transportation and Logistics, Construction and Building Technology, Manufacturing and Engineering Technology, Information and Communication Technology, Creative Arts and Fashion, and Social and Personal Services. With an average age of competitors at 22, China is taking part in the WorldSkills Competition for the seventh time, with its largest-ever delegation in terms of both competitors and skill categories.
