The top global competition for relay athletics - the World Athletics Relays 2025 - will take place from May 10 to 11 at the Tianhe Sports Center in Guangzhou.
As of 10:30 on May 1, 1,057 participants, including 727 athletes from 43 countries and regions, have confirmed participation. After training, athletes from around the world have expressed their love for Guangdong foods, especially dim sum.

The preliminary rounds will kick off at 19:00 on May 10. The top two teams from each of the four heats will advance to the finals on the following day, securing qualification for this year's World Athletics Championships(WAC) in Tokyo.
The evening of May 11 will see the winners of gold, silver, and bronze, as well as the distribution of additional spots for the WAC. Teams that do not make the finals will compete in additional rounds for more qualifications. A total of 14 teams will earn tickets to the WAC through this event.
Legendary sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Letsile Tebogo, the men's 200m champion at the Paris Olympics from Botswana, and Wayde van Niekerk, the men's 400m world record holder, will make an appearance.
