In order to get the first bite of golden pomfret, we head to the southernmost part of the Chinese mainland—the Leizhou Peninsula, and depart for the Havwii 2 Offshore Intelligent Aquaculture Platform.
From an aerial view, Havwii 2 lies like a blue whale on the emerald waves. It consists of three large net cages, which contain 30,000 m³ of aquaculture water and are home to millions of jin of high-quality sea fish, including today's star: the golden pomfret.
